There are know issues with Spiceworks not being able to detect certain brands and/or versions of AntiVirus.

Post the name and version.

were using trend micro WFBS v7 some of them have picked up fine with this version  but but 30 have not but they do have AV installed

False positives are usually the result of an AV not registering properly win the Windows security tool and/or WMI issues. Do the same workstations report all of their other data properly?

yes they are repoting other items fine its very wierd i will check again but im pretty sure that everyting else is there and fine

Make sure that he Security Center is enabled on the affected amchines. Spiceworks obtains AV info from there, so if it’s diabled it won’t show up. Does the Client-Server Security Agent appear under software for the affected machines?

Here’s a help file: http://community.spiceworks.com/help/Anti-Virus_Support_In_Spiceworks%3F

cheers grey i have enabled a test GP on my OU will post back results

and yes it does michael its very strange but i have now enabled security center so i will check it out today

After you have confirmed Security Center is active double-check a workstation to confirm the AV shows up as active/up-to-date there.

Then find that workstation in your Spiceworks Inventory and do a Tools → Rescan to fully rescan it.

Afterward does the Configuration tab show any AV (even if not up-to-date)?

Note that server OSs don’t have Windows Security Center, so they’ll require a special “by name” listing such that Spiceworks recognizes the exact AV name. Post up a screenshot of the Software tab to show the AV as listed on one of the servers.
