We are wondering why the EXE and MSI installers for the Connect client (213.100.3284.0) install different software, and furthermore, which software is truly necessary for workstations without Microsoft Outlook / Office installed.

Because we’re using Group Policy, we’ll be using the MSI installer, but then wonder if we actually need the VSTO package or the Interop Assembly if we’re not using Outlook / Office.
