Hello Everyone,
I used to order custom colored fiber patch cables from FS.com, but they now claim that you have to order an ungodly length to get custom cables. We have recabled our entire environment, color coding everything depending on the services. My question does anyone have any recommendations on where you can order custom colored OS2 Single Mode Simplex Fiber Patch Cables? I’ve struck out on Google.

I’ve never worked with them myself, and don’t know pricing or order quantities/etc., so take this with a big ol’ chuck of salt, but I’ve heard from some friends that these folks are willing to do smaller orders of custom cables.

They don’t list custom colors as an option on that page, but it might be worth a shot?

They must have changed, we have ordered custom length fiber from them lots of times with no problems.

FS is usually good to deal with, but I have ran into issue with custom orders from them before. Several years ago, I ordered custom length, pre-terminated, plenum rated 12 strand OS2 and OM4 cables from them to run from our 1st floor network room to our 3rd floor server room. I think 165 feet was the length I ordered through their website. Got an email from them the next day that the minimum order for this cable, since it was plenum rated, was 1000 meters (basically, they wanted to sell me a whole roll), but they could produce my needed length in non-plenum cable. Of course, I would not have paid extra to order plenum if I didn’t NEED plenum. Having no other reasonable option, I ordered the non-plenum, and we had to install the entire run in conduit, which, of course, complicated matters.

Try with any of the ISP vendor you will get the solution most of the cables comes in black color only.

FS still do them:

They call them ‘customized’ but really they are off the shelf for a set of lengths and colours.
e.g. red 2m LC available delivered in 7 days.
