For some reason, towards the end of last week, I stopped getting the email to do the daily challenge. Is there a place I need to make sure it is selected in my profile?

Hi,

They might have turned off the notifications leading up to the transition over to the new community

Unfortunately, today is the last day you can take the Daily Challenge until we rebuild it… it won’t be there in the new community at first (the site shuts down in about 4 hours and won’t be back till Monday).

Don’t lose hope though… plans are underway to bring it back, and I think the Spark-lers might have something in store for the interim, but for now, it is going to be unavailable.

Why are you guys changing the community part of the site? Just curious as to the reasoning behind it.

Hey, good question. I think there were a lot of things behind it, as there always are with software changes. Off the top of my head… the code was old, hard to maintain, hard to update/build new things, and there were modern things that are normal for communities now that just weren’t there, like dark mode for instance. We got a lot of requests for things like that.

On this platform we can focus more on building new things and less on maintaining old code. The ultimate goal of course is to make the community better for everyone, and we thought that this was the best way to start in that direction.

I think that the idea is good… starting out with something new, a good core. Then hopefully we can build on that and make it into the community that we want it to be. I know that it is frustrating to lose the Daily Challenge, even temporarily, but I’m hoping when we bring it back it will be the non-beta Daily Challenge that we’ve been hoping for since the first version came out. :slight_smile:
