Hello,

I’m having some issues with my domain controller. I’ve built one as my PDC and I’m looking to add another.

My only issue is that sysvol isn’t replicating on the other DC and when the PDC is offline the 2nd (new) DC doesn’t allow any logins to new account and new device’s are unable to connect.

This is leading me to believe the new DC isn’t working.

Is there anything you guys would recommend me doing to test this or even repair the link.

Is it worth trying to rebuild the PDC on my domain and transfering all roles?

More info needed. You didnt tell what OS is old DC and what new one. Post ipconfig /all for both DCs to examin. repadmin /showrepl would be helpful to.

also check that the DNS servers in the NIC’s for the domain controllers. point at each other as DNS1 and themselves as DNS2

Now the clients also NEED to know about the new domain controller. Have you got both domain controllers in the DNS settings on the client NICs?
