I gather that for Spiceworks to connect to a pc the DCOM “default Authenticaton Level” has to be set to “Connect” and the “default impersonation level” has to set to “Identify”. Is there any way to connect if the Default Authentication Level is set to “None”? We have a program that everyone uses daily that has to have the Defalult Authentication level set to “None”… Just looking for a workaround.

Thanks

Hi Rlow,

Microsoft requires that the Default Authentication Level be set to “Connect” for WMI to function properly. You can test this using the WMI Diagnostic Utility on one of your remote computers that has the level set to “None”. Regretfully, I haven’t heard of any possible work-around for this.
