When I’ve repeatedly turned down your offers, and you go behind my back and try to get my boss to give you a different answer, you succeed in pissing me off, which makes me want to campaign all the harder against your product.
Doing this makes you a douche nozzle. Stop it.
I’m looking at you, company whose name rhymes with “Brew Delic”…

I keep getting calls from Unitrends , that particular sales person is especially pestering.
The call from this morning was like:
Dude: Hi, I’m calling from Unitrends
Me: Ok, I’m familiar with Unitrends, we are not interested in waht you have to offer.
Dude: Ok, no problem, I’ll just invite you to a webinar and send you some follow up emails…
Dude: Oh… I see you opted out of emails…I’ll send stuff anyways and follow up again next week!
Me:… thanks? no thanks.
EDIT: I just got the webinar invite…

Hey! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having this experience. Do you mind private messaging me the name of the rep that keeps calling you so that I can address this with their manager?

We had one salesman call the receptionist and specifically asked to speak to someone other than us IT guys, because he couldn’t get us to call him back. I am not joking.

I feel your pain -I won’t do business with any of the vendors who try to get around me that way. We laugh about it internally, but it’s not funny - it’s freaking annoying

Took me a bit… but I found em.
I give more slack to those that are on Spiceworks… but I prefer they limit to checking in with me to every 6 months at the most frequent. And I’ve learned you have to be clear and direct.

I recall one call from another sales rep for the company which rhymes with “Blue Smelic.” I almost thought it was a prank call, because he talked like Jeff Spicoli, but he was real. Even after I said their service was too expensive for me, he continued to explain why it was a really good value for the cost, while giggling throughout the conversation. But what made it truly amazing was the bubbling sound of someone in the background taking bong hits.
This really happened.

My favorite is when you tell them no thank you, and their response is “is there someone else I could speak to about it at your company?” Why no, there isn’t, I’m the queen and my word is law. Good day sir!

I appreciate it, but I didn’t catch the name. The event invite has no name either, it’s just a webex. From ‘marketing.webex@unitrends.com’.
I’m sure he’ll call again,m I’ll make sure to ask :¬)

The bad thing about this is… One gets fired, half a year is quiet… and then the new shiny salesman shows up…
It lies in the way Sales works. That is why I mostly avoid the major american brands. Sadly this way of doing sales swaps over to Europe as well and here in Bolivia are no Rules at all.
Which Part of “no” is not understandable? Did I not spell it right? If a doc just had repaired my teeth a few minutes ago… ok… it may have sounded like a … yes? Maybe? But … No is No and stays that way. (Even) ESPECIALLY if you call my Boss.
In that case I will talk to my Boss, tell him what you just did and implement a Black List of Companys to avoid.

Neally - I’d prefer to address this now vs later, and ensure that you don’t get called again until you’re ready to hear from us. Can you private message me your name or email address so that I can determine who the offending person is today?

I am very sure you are sure a good employee and always think for your company. despite many times the salesman call you for offer, and you don’t like the idea, mean something wrong with the offer??? I suppose you next time, Should share with your Purchaser and your boss regarding this. You may use email not whatsapp not sms not call. Because this will come into your boss and purchaser mind.

My philosophy: If you need someone to sell it, it ain’t that great. I do my own research, rather than have some unknown cold caller try and force something on me that I don’t need or want. Complete waste of time on both ends.
It gets so bad sometimes that we have a call park “black hole” with a VM stating we disapprove of cold calling that we transfer calls to.
