I have a two DC’s both running DHCP in a failover relationship. One of them has stopped responding to DHCP requests and thinks that it does not have a static assigned IP. It does and always has had a static IP address and there are not other connectivity issues. But when I go into DHCP and add a binding, I check the box to bind to it’s interface and click ok. When I open it back up the check box is unchecked and it is not binded to its interface. We have rebooted the server, remove the virtual network adapter and added it back, added a new additional network adapter but had the same issue with it. Any ideas?

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

Could be an IP conflict with another device.

DHCP for small setups is ok on DCs, but generally it should be it’s own box, if your company is small enough 1 DHCP should do, if you need to go to failover, you should consider virtual machines and dedicated VMs for DHCP, not sharing the DC.

{"@type":"Person
Rod-IT
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/Rod-IT"}}]}}
