Hello everyone,
The DHCP server scope is 192.168.1.80 - 192.168.1.100
i have exluded 192.168.1.40 - 192.168.1.70
The Hyper-V host has static ip of 192.168.1.54 which i put in reservation.
Howerver i keep seeing ip in the range of 80 - 100 being leased to the hyper-v host.
Thanks ffor your help.

Does the hyper-v host have only one NIC?
What is your subnet mask? Is there more than one scope? If it is /24, this does not add up, as the range you have excluded is not within the range that the scope is supposedly handing out.

Reservations have to be within the configured scope.
Servers should have a static IP address set, not a reservation, so they function when/if your DHCP service is down.
The exclusion range you set is serving no purpose since it’s not within the scope.
Hello Cuboctahedron
The Hyper-V host has 2 NIC which i combined to NIC teaming mode, giving it an static ip address.
Thanks.
Hello chmod0777
subnet mask is: 255.255.255.0. Only one scope /24
Thanks
Hello iCanFixIt
There are 2 physical adapters, 1 NIC teaming(for the physical) and 1 virtual switch adapter(virtual machines)
Thanks
Hello All,
I still can’t find the solution. If you have it please share.
Thanks
