Hello guys,
I’m having a problem with my dhcp leases, the dhcp serve says that it has no ip available to distribute but when i have checked the leases there are like 20 available, i have reduced the expiration time to 5 hr and i deleted all leases to test, at the begining the server seems to work back again normaly but after a while it begins again to skip IPs! so it considers that there are no more ips.
the scope is like this
172.22.64.96 > 172.22.64.254 with an exclusion 96 > 110
Please share your experiences if you have had this problem
Thank you

Have you reconciled your scopes? If this is Win DHCP, right-click the scope and select Reconcile.

20 available is kind of cutting it thin and if scavenging isn’t happening in DNS you will probably have conflicts with name resolution.

I see you have exclusions set up, but do you by chance have any reservations taking those skipped IP’s?
You can also try opening up the scope a little, assuming not everything below 96 is static and taken.
Also why do you have an exclusion set for the bottom of the scope, when you could easily start it at .111? Not saying you shouldn’t, honestly just curious.

No i don’t have any reservations, and to answer your question about our weird scope 172.22.64.0:24, actualy everything below 96 is reserved ( not in dhcp ) but for printers, switchs, wifi controllers and AP, vpn clients, servers…so i can’t , and to answer about the exclusion well i don’t know really we just put it for dev dept ( for vms) we could do it from 111 but we ve done it like this just for classification.anyways thank you guys

Have you even checked the forward lookup zone for duplicate IP addresses assigned to the different host names?
