Hey SpiceHeads, quick question. Do any of you use PeopleSoft? The reason I ask is that we see that it is a common topic over on IT Toolbox ( PeopleSoft & PeopleSoft HR ), so much that we were talking about making a discussion group here in Spiceworks for it. But when I did a search for it, I actually do not see any topics related to PeopleSoft in the last year.

So curious to see if we have a lot of members who use it and just don’t talk about it or not. And if you have, make sure to review it so that other IT pros can make informed decisions in case it is something they’re debating using at their organization.

Nope, never. Seems like 11 others are with me.

Nope. Not that I am aware of. I don’t believe any company I have worked with has used it.

Haven’t even heard of it.

Was curious, did a little research. Seems it’s an Oracle product and meant for companies of 500 or more employees. Also, didn’t even show up in the top 10 list of HR software, and 400,000 companies worldwide use it. Just for NTK (Nice To Know).

My company uses all Oracle products so we do use people soft. I’m not familiar with the workings or backend use of it but the consensus of our HR team at my location is they despise it. I’ve seen WorkDay used at a previous workplace and that seems like an intuitive system for HR needs. PeopleSoft is clunky and buggy from what I’ve heard. (Total company size is above 30,000 so maybe it’s just our config of the software, not sure.)

A company I worked for way back when implemented a very heavily modified version of PSoft to replace their old IBM system to beat the Millennium Bug. In IT I rarely used it, most who did hated it. It did lead eventually to a heavy wave of automation but I believe they abandoned in favor of SAP after I left the company.

company I used to work for had this. … I just remember it was always an a$$ache to deal with this when they couldn’t enter in something … I have blocked out these memories until now…Thanks Spice Works… lol

Never used it, but used to work across the street from their Pleasanton, CA headquarters. Does that count?

I don’t think any place (all 3 of them) I’ve ever worked used it.

None of my previous 5 employers used Peoplesoft. I’m thinking it’s not a thing any more.

Yes! Finally someone is talking about Oracle’s PeopleSoft! I’m from a large university ITS dept and we’ve been using PeopleSoft since 1998. I’m on the financials and physical assets and space and supplier management - technical team.

We use this product in-house currently. Heavily customized. They want us to move to the Cloud eventually but that would mean a lot of needful customization would be dropped. Nobody wants to do that.
