What date is best for SpiceBot’s birthday?

Hmm. Good Question. Perhaps March 4? That’s the day in 2024 that we turned the community on, on the new platform, and where everyone met SpiceBot.

Ah, I can see that this question may take a life of it’s own. @Suzanne-Spiceworks would you mind splitting the question about Spicebot’s b-day into another thread? I don’t want to detract from Spicerex’s celebration. :sw_spicerex:

Oh, but that wasn’t this Spicebot. Everything was erased. Those were testbots working up to the real thing. … And actually if you want to get into the weeds, Spicebot is just a copy of the Discourse bot but we renamed him, so to find out THAT birthday, we’d have to research when they created it.

Hard to tell what date to use. But open to a vote if people have other ideas about what day is most appropriate we can add in a poll.

Either way, I wanted to try my search skills out anyways. I found that the original discobot on Discourse has his own profile, which started 1/5/2016:

Oh, that is a good idea. We can use Spicebot’s profile join date:

August 16th.

That seems like a good compromise, and might be closer to when it was first renamed Spicebot. Are we agreed? If so, I will add it to my back-end community holiday calendar. :slight_smile:
