Hi Friedns.,

I am using 10 Mbps Leased line.

I am able to get 10 Mbps download speed, but upload is very poor.

When I check this directly connecting to ISP Switch, there I am getting upload and download identical.

The moment I connect to network, Download speed reduces drastically. Same time Download is fine.

Any one has the same issue, or any clue on the solution for this.

I got it checked from ISP technical team also. They say there is no problem from their end.

What kind of router do you have connected to the ISP’s equipment?

Also any QoS / mangement boxes in the way. We had this once, was driving me mad - turned out to me a misconfigured rule on one of our WAN optimisers…

please ask your vendor for MRTG graph so you will get idea about your bandwidth

Look for auto-negotiation issues, full duplex vs. half duplex on the switch port. One side may be configured or negotiating full duplex while the other side is configured or negotiating half duplex.

MRTG clearly shows download speed is crossing 10 Mbps.
But upload never reached 4 mbps or above.
So I called ISP guys to my place. They disconnected entire network and connected single pc to their router and tested more than 3 hours.

For that time with single pc upload is 8 to 9 Mbps. Same as Download. Cross checked it with MRTG. I seen this hike in graph only now, after 9 months.
This shows there is no issue until their router.

The moment it’s connected back to network same problem good download speed and no upload speed.
I connected to unmanaged switch. There is no managed switches to mention duplex settings any where.
