Hey guys, we’ve been rebuilding a lot of machines for new clients recently, and while our old clients all have standardised Dell hardware, our new clients tend to have a real mismatch of unbranded crap!

My question is this: I know there are a lot of apps out there to ‘find’ the drivers that are missing, driver detective etc, but none seem to actually be worthwhile, I’m not necessarily looking for a free piece of software, just something to track down drivers for me and save time on rebuilds, as at the moment I’m having to trawl through legacy drivers on motherboard manufacturers’ sites daily and it’s quite counter productive!

Ideally it would be something I can install on a thumb drive and run on each machine that needs it!

Cheers guys!

yeah that’s the solution I’ve been using, with the sheer volume of new customer’s we’re supporting it’s just not time-effective enough, the common problem with customers in IT these days is everything has to be done yesterday!
