Eaton 5P1550GR Issues

Hi ,

i have 6 1550GR´s on my desk with different errors

is there something like a Service Manual Available ?
5 of them have error 0x601 (battery error)
1 has a charger issue

any advice how to handle this topic ?

yeah i found this aswell … but this is more customer Manual´s… what i was looking for is a service manual (basicly for technicians)

UPS units don’t tend to come with ‘service’ manuals as they are not user serviceable.

As for your error, have you at least replaced the battery?

yes i replaced the battery with 2 know good battery packs … still same outcome

i found this on the interwebs…
it states that there are two capacitors that might be broken

could this be a solution ?

Thanx for tagging me. A few things on this topic:

• A firmware update is a possible solution: https://www.eaton.com/content/dam/eaton/products/backup-power-ups-surge-it-power-distribution/Firmware/eaton-5p-1u-and-tower-ups-firmware.zip (this is for 1U rack models). Full set of firmware: Download firmware | UPS | PDU | Network Connectivity | Eaton
• If the UPS is still under warranty, definitely submit a claim.
• If it is a capacitor issue, you’ll likely need to replace the UPS. I’m guessing that there’s a remote possibility that you have an extended warranty or advanced exchange plan. Rod-IT is correct. The only thing that’s user replaceable on smaller UPSs like this are the batteries. UPS manufacturers don’t provide detailed service manuals as opening an electrical device is inherently risky. There’s no reliable standard or program is evaluate if someone is qualified to do it.
