Hello All.

Since moving over to Edge everyone receives this message when opening one of our primary applications. It is simple enough to click past through it however the program is very frequently used and so I’ve received an handful of complaints about it.

From what I’ve found you would typically be able enable the option for users to check a box that would stop Edge from asking about this file again; however, this is a manifest file and so for some reason that means Edge either can’t or won’t provide that option.

What I would like to know is if there is any way to make Edge trust this server/file so completely that it doesn’t push this pop-up at all. Of course if you know of any alternative solutions then I’d be happy to hear those as well!

Yes, because that site is opening in http, not https and Edge by default, and many other browsers, do that so you know you are connecting to a secure site.

I have it happening with one ERP app we have inside and I have crafted a shortcut that directly launches the file. You just need to figure it out for yours.

My shortcut is like this:

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://server/subfolder/DeltekVision.application

and use it in the “Target:” location of the shortcut properties

You can also enable this site specifically to allow automatic downloads.

Settings, cookies and site permissions, look for automatic downloads, under allow, add your site.

This should enable this site only to automatically download the file

If that doesnt work, look at application handlers
