hi all,

need to expand our DHCP scope as we only have 3 leases left in the range

is it ok to delete the scope and to start again from fresh as its easier to make a big range and then exclude

trouble is we do MAC address filtering and reservation, can you export the list easy and import in new scopt im going to make?

thanks,

rob

You can export you current (google returns the instructions) create your new scope and import. its not that bad. plus it’s a good time to clean up any ones you want to remove.

You mean export just the Mac filter and reservations list or even the leases aswell?

lease information is lost. it will be a new scope.

A typical implementation would reduce the current lease time and then wait so that leases are short. then make your change. e.g. if reduce leases to 4 hours, then implement over night all devices will need to renew. once working you can then increase lease time again.

but what about if i export the lease into the new lease folder as its going to be EXACTLY the same ip range/subnet/gateway etc

just want to this time expand the range ie the dhcp range as atm its to only 100, want to make it 200

here you can check this out… towards the bottom

This one may be better yet…

Just use the DHCP console.

Go to the properties of the Scope and change the start and/or ending IP addresses to change the range the scope will hand out.

This won’t affect any existing filtering or reservations you have in place.
