First, thanks to Richard Wright for getting this group going and hosting the first meeting!

I thought the room was perfect for our needs, and for me, the location and time of day was just right.

My only suggestion for the next meeting would be to arrange ahead of time for a new person to share something they’re doing with Spiceworks. They’d need to have remote access to their own Spiceworks install so we could all see.

Enjoyed the meeting and getting to know other folks! Thanks to Richard and Bryan (and Pratt) for inviting us and allowing us to use their facility! Thanks also to Shavlik for the presentation on cloud-based partch management.

It was a great first meeting! I was only expecting about half as many of the 22 that actually attended and I hear that is a good turnout for a SpiceCorp first meeting.

I would also like to thank Nathan Golden from Managecast for driving in all the way from Ohio to attend our inaugural meeting.

Very good stuff here, it was nice to hear about what others are doing with spiceworks. I appreciate everyone who helped to put this event together.

I agree that next time we have someone present their spiceworks implementation, or testing if that’s where they are.

Any feedback as to the next meeting date/time/place? Most have indicated every 2 months is good so I’ll go ahead and suggest Thursday April 21 (so as not to conflict with the Zumba class we have at Pratt on Wednesdays). Did 6:30 pm work for everyone? I (Pratt) can still host unless someone else wants to give it a try. We should expect about 35-40 attendees next time since the word will get out. Also, most agreed that having a meeting room with tables and chairs, a projector, and a lectern was beneficial. Any other recommendations? I agree with Jason Tracy’s suggestion that if we can get someone who has access to their Spiceworks system remotely to have them volunteer to present. Any takers?

Good first meeting, looking forward to the next one. As I work until 5pm and have an hours drive 6:30 works well for me.

May I suggest having 1 or 2 featured plugins at the event? There are so many out there and it would be good to get advice on which ones are worth installing.

Has anyone started creating a topic list for future meetings? I would recommend everyone put together a two column list. once column of topics they could present on and the other of topics they would like to see a presentation on.

So st start this:

  • Installation
  • Remotes

I would like to see a presentation on:

  • Customizing (appearance)
  • Customizing (functionality/plugins)
  • Reporting
  • Other hardware monitoring (badge readers, climate monitors, etc).

Unfortunately, I won’t know until about the first of April. As soon as I know more, I will let you know, about doing the installation and basic configuration presentation.
