I have a record that needs fixing in Spiceworks. This happened once before and I went into SQLite and was able to fix it.

This time I can’t seem to get into the database with SQLite - don’t know if something has changed with Spiceworks or I am just braindead - (the teachers are back and school starts tomorrow!)

Anyway, I need help! The error is just with one user, but as a result, she can’t send help tickets and I can update hardware inventory assigned to her because it is in her name record.

Version of Spiceworks?

Hi,

it seems you have played with SQlite. just search for her name and email ID in user list. delete it manually from there. then ask her to send mail again for testing. hopw this should work.

I’ve also had issues getting access to the database before. Typically, this is because an active network scan is happening. Which program are you using to access the database?

SQLite Manager (Firefox plugin)
SQLite Administrator
SQLiteSpy
SQLite Database Browser

I’ve had the most success with the SQLite Manager. Another option to try is to copy out spiceworks_prod.db to your desktop and point your SQLite browser there. This will sandbox the db and let you fiddle with SQLite queries in a safe way. When you are sure about what you want to do, backup your database. Then, stop all scheduled network scans and execute your edits against the real database in the spiceworks/db folder. Hope it helps!
