In our eternal quest to promote Eaton products and services to IT pros, we do our best to make it as interesting and fun as possible. As part of this quest, we produce annual promotions—this year it’s Paths to Power where you get to navigate our fictional IT and data center maps to locate the Wizard of Lite and restore peace to the realm.

We’d love to hear about your Paths to Power experience by answering some quick questions via this form: Microsoft Forms

In return, we shall send you a digital version of our map—with your personal IT lair on it. And you even get to name it! We’ll send you the file.

(If this looks familiar, it’s likely because we asked you about secret IT lairs last month.) Have you ever wanted to have a secret IT lair?

Just answer the three questions—five questions. OK there are 8, but they’re short. And we shall watch. And pray.

We’ve even incorporated the old man from scene 24 into Paths to Power.

  • What is our company? Eaton.
  • What is our quest? To market to IT pros.
  • What is our favorite color? Blue, the color of our logo. No red, the color of our duck. Auuuuuuuuuuuugh!

You guys might want to contact whoever still publishes Choose Your Own Adventure books… Maybe a niche market, but this game totally took me back to my childhood absolutely devouring those books!

Completely agree!

I refuse to divulge the location of my secret lair.
I don’t even want to think about the consequences of having you publish it on your map. It’s where I go to escape the User.

You realize that USER randomly attaches tracking chips to your clothes so you must go to your lair unclothed.

I still have my Choose Your Own Adventure books - D&D based! Anyhow, yes. This would be awesome to do as a short (20-30 minute) web page to entice web hits, adding products into the line, but IT based. Do you turn it off & on again, or reimage?

Thrones mean different things to different people!

BTW, we’ve begun working on the custom locations/maps so hopefully we’ll be sending them out soon.

Update: I’ve begun sending out your custom IT lairs. The PDF files are pretty large so I’ll be sharing them via OneDrive links to the email that you supplied. If you don’t get one this week, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

You’ll get PDF and JPG files as well as isolated images of your lair which should help you locate them. Some previews…

Pretty good images you’ve got there!

We’re still accepting feedback via the survey and will still do more custom lairs. @Jay-Updegrove
