So… I was reading Andy’s post about the Chrome OS yesterday, & a thought crossed the collective brain of the Johnstone Supply IT Dept. here. A frightening one, to be honest…

What is the one thing that sets Google apart from the fictional SkyNet? It’s the one thing that also made Soylent Green so damn tasty… PEOPLE. Google still has people in the mix running things.

Has anyone considered what might happen if Google decides to start throwing AI into the fold here? Does this frighten ANYONE ELSE?!?

OK… so this thought was frightening enough to me yesterday when we had it. That CADIE thing was the last straw. I’m going to go home & lock myself & my family in our basement now… nice knowin’ ya!! Happy New Year to all!!

Hey don’t laugh, have any of you seen those huminoid looking robots the Japanese are making on YouTube? Can we say T100 or T1000 model?

Good point Reg. If you add to that the fact that Microsoft & Ford are bandying about the possibility of adding to their Sync software the ability to basically be a WiFi hotspot on wheels… it’s becoming more & more frightening by the second!!
