I’m looking into suggestions.

I see a few third-party tools on the market such as Systools migrator, however with the new “automate tool” within MS exchange migration console, is it really necessary?

Both paths appear to have a long list of pre-requisite steps involved.

Does anyone have experience with either or both?

Which direction do you feel is the least intrusive and poses the least risk?

I believe we are going to look into 3rd party tools.

However, If we intend on taking ownership of the domain and keeping the @sample.com to add to our existing tenant.

If I create the @sample.com in the target, will I need to leave both domains active and verified to complete the migration?

Or will I need to deactivate the DNS records for the source domain first?

Every step-by-step tutorial Ive found seems to assume that the domain names will be changed.

My organisation is currenty using BitTitan’s MigrationWiz, it’s pretty easy and seemless so far. Some manual steps are involved, however we have some scripts that can change Google forwarding to 365 and vice versa.
