Hello. I am trying to use Active Directory Group Policy to put a URL shortcut that opens in Chrome in Kiosk mode when double clicked on our computers. I am having a hard time with this for some reason. Either no shortcut will appear or I get \\C:… in front of the url when Chrome opens. My settings are below. I am running the 64 bit version of Chrome.

Thanks.

What happens if you change Target Type to URL instead of File System Object?

It opens a page cannot be found and the shortcut changes to https:// C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --kiosk http:\\www.thewebsite.com

if you check the properties on a computer that has the shortcut, what does it show for Target and Start in?

It only has a URL field in the shortcut.

file:///C:/Program%20Files/Google/Chrome/Application%20–kiosk%20https://www.thewebsite.com

When I do file system object I get the same for the target. For argument, I get the website or the path to chrome.exe. I have switched these around and had both the path to chrome.exe and the url in the target field.

I have also used quotes, but I get a similar result. Thanks.

Hey there! I totally get how frustrating this can be. If your goal is to set up Chrome in kiosk mode, you might find this guide super helpful. Give it a try!
