are you sure the email is being received by the account correctly? I monitor the email account on my set up just so I know for sure

i have checked the setup and the test emails are being sent fine. What could be the issue?

Hi,
Firstly, if you log into the mailbox for your helpdesk is the test email there?
The test email will send using the SMTP settings you stipulated. These can be a different account to the IMAP/Pop so its good to check.
Is it a central install or at a remote site?

it is a central install. Emails that i`m sending to the help desk are not appearing in the mailbox in spiceworks, im only receiving them because the Itsupport account is forwaded to me. If i open a new ticket im not getting the automated response with my ticket reference number.

OK, but what I meant was, lets say you have helpesk@yourcompany.com as your Spiceworks email (The email address should be a new one and can only be used for spiceworks). You email helpdesk@ from your own account (simulating what a user would do), can you check to see if it is waiting in the mailbox? Either by accessing it through exchange or logging in if its pop?
I ask as when you set the email settings page up and click save the config is validated and if there were any messages in the inbox a grey warning box would appear asking you if you are sure you want to use that account. As you have mentioned the test email to you works but not this box I wonder if the settings are wrong…
