Currently we (IT) are using the spiceworks help desk system but we have been asked to setup a ticketing system for other departments. We have done this for 1 department but they can see ours and we can see there’s and management does not want that.
From the articles I have read spiceworks does not have this capability.
Can someone recommend a good help desk system that will allow us to accomplish the following.
Create help desk admins
Assign queues and limit access to them per department and user
Allow uploads of attachments
Does LDAP intergration
Thanks

SysAid can do all that and more, it isn’t cheap though.

Fire up another Spiceworks install? I think that would work.

We have three spiceworks installations up and running on different VMs. It works great for us.

Loading up separate VM’s just for spiceworks seems a bit much not to mention the cost for Microsoft server/workstaion licenses.
We have a windows iso with an answer file that runs itself and we have a pool of license keys it pulls from and we are constantly decommissioning machines and re purposing license keys… Or you can install spiceworks on existing servers then use a DNS alias for each server.

I am in agreement with ihatsynot and Snype360 : another instance of Spiceworks would do the job even on a single AD domain network.
Just instal another copy od Spiceworks on the workstation hat runs 24/7,
Name the computer host after department official name and instruct departmental staff to use THAT Spiceworks ticketing system. Select correct IP range for that departmnet ( in case those computers are on separate subnet) and you’ll have new departmental ticketing/tracking system.
Cost would be equal to “zero” and, BTW, second or third Spiceworks host would greatly improve system redundancy, network scanning speed offload the number-crunching operations on your “main” Spiceworks installation etc.
