Hi all, newbie here!
I am looking for Ebooks regarding the Cisco Certified Network Associate - Routing and Switching (CCNA), but have come to find that there is a number of different ones, if any one could please inform me, which would be the best one to start to study and give me the most information to pass the CCNA test.
If anyone out there who has already passed this Cisco Certified CCNA test, if you could give me any help regarding Ebooks, sites or any other material, i would be very grateful.
I have a basic knowledge within IT, and i also have 6 months to pass the entry level, do you think this is possible.
Thank you!!

I use books authored by Wendell Odom… He’s the best, try looking for it. I suggest also that you don’t only read the books but also watch CBTnuggets regarding CCNA…

I hate to brutally honest but it’s gonna be tough. I’m a few days into this book (CCNA in 60 days) but it requires a lot of discipline, at least 2 hours of studying a day. It will probably be more than that for you if you are just getting started in IT.
http://www.amazon.com/Cisco-CCNA-Days-William-Browning/dp/0956989292/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398042324&sr=8-1&keywords=ccna+in+60+days
As cripher mentioned, check out some videos as they may help visualize things for you a bit more. Just keep in mind everyone learns differently so what works for me, might not work for you. Pluralsight is a good online (monthly subscription) site for video training too.
Check around in your area at local community colleges too. Around here they offer CCNA training which may be better for you as it’s instructor lead will probably be a better pace.

Lammle books are a good supplement. Expect to draw from a few sources if not if going the Cisco NetAcademy route—

I always recommend going through a video sessions since it would be much more informative than reading a book. ( CBT Nuggets )

Study material
- CBT Nuggets CCNA video’s are really good
- Cisco Net Academy and Cisco website
- Todd Lammle CCNA book
- Cisco’s Packet Tracer
- Visual Cert Exam for test practice
This is not an easy exam to pass and if you brain dump be warned if Cisco find out, even if you pass the exam, they will fail you!
Things have change since i took my exam but the basics are the same.
- You get 90 Minutes to answer 45-55 questions. Approx 2 minutes a question
- You can’t mark questions for review later
- You have to answer the question you are on before you get the next
- Most questions test your understanding of multiple topics
- Cisco relies on simulations a lot. Its like configuring a network/device in the real world. Bear in mind though they don’t always allow you to use particular commands if they are testing your understanding and there are other ways to achieve the same result
In my opinion, make sure you can sub net and do reverse summarization in you sleep. If you can’t you will struggle. Buy the Visual Cert practice exams so you can simulate being in the real exam. This way you can gauge if you are up to speed. Use Cisco’s packet tracer and study material so you can see how networking works.
Best of luck

Afternoon all.
I know this is a bit far-fetched, but does anyone have this Cisco CCNA in 60 Days pdf file, also would you be willing to email or upload it for me.
The reason i ask is because here in Brazil they only have the eBook Kindle at R$23,23, i need the pdf, so i can print out and study on the go.
Thank you!
Dean

Hi Lora, thanks for the information, will check it out now!

UPDATE
Hi Lora.
49.00USD after 10 day trail has ended, this will convert to almost 100,00 Brazilian real, maybe the pricing is focused on the US market, as for the Brazilian market, in my opinion it is over priced, because the same topics are covered on different sites for free, like Youtube.
Thank you for your help!
Dean
Dean,
Congratulations on taking the first steps toward earning your CCNA certification and bettering your skill level. I see many Spiceheads have mentioned CBT Nuggets so I wanted to jump in and answer any questions you might have. I wanted to let you know that Jeremy Cioara has made some videos on our YouTube channel outlining Cisco’s CCNA certification that could be beneficial for you to check out.
We have also built a CCNA Certification Playlist that covers all the material needed for this certification along with a lot of supplemental material including ICND1 and ICND2 Exam Walkthroughs and IPv4 Subnetting. You can check out this playlist with this 7-day free trial . I hope you find what you are looking and let me know I can be of any help. Happy training!

Thanks for the information Sean, will check it out now.
Hi Dean,
We have a lower priced regular subscription that comes to 29.00 USD per month in case you’re interested in checking that out. If not, no worries! Good luck!
Already mentioned, but the Cisco Press books by Wendell Odom are the de facto textbooks to use. In my view, the exams that came with those were harder than the CCNA itself, so if you can beat the former so to can you ace the latter.
I did pick up Todd Lammle’s book as well and whilst useful, I wouldn’t use it in isolation, as I recall it gives you just, just enough to know the learning objectives whilst Odom’s go into more detail.
Whatever you choose for your primary source(s), get packet tracer for lab work. I did get some real Cisco hardware to screw about with prior to the exam but I think just using a sim like PT would be fine.
