The service is running but no one can connect to it and I am unable to run the desktop on the server. The progress bar gets about 2/3’s of the way and hangs.

I was unable to stop the service and had to kill the process to restart it. That didn’t help.

To further Bill’s request for more information:

  • Is this after updating Spiceworks?
  • Are you able to restart the machine that Spiceworks is running on?
  • Have you created a backup of your C:\Program Files (x86)\db and \data directories, uninstalled Spiceworks, downloaded the latest version, and moved your \data and \db directories back in?

It is not after an update.
I restarted it to no avail.
