FFS, enough already!

Eric Dwinell, apparently a sales rep for Oracle/Dyn, flatly WILL. NOT. STOP. I’ve been telling this nitwit literally for MONTHS that we’re not interested in what he’s selling and to please go away.

After receiving FIVE MORE emails from him after my first polite “I’m not interested, kindly go away” email, I’ve had it. Naming and shaming here.

Sales people are relentless at times.

This should be the equivalent of the Scarlet Letter for such knuckle-draggers. Usually, if they’re persistent despite several polite warnings, I’ll just set up a rule in Outlook to automatically delete their emails. If they dare to change the address, it’s game on.

I don’t even reply “not interested” to this kind of thing. I just delete and ignore.

I’m afraid that any kind of reply somehow encourages them!

I somehow got on Oracles list and I have multiple reps calling/e-mailing and I’m like people: I have absolutely ZERO to do with Oracle products. “Well we notice you do infrastructure as well, lets set up a time to demo our Cloud infrastructure, we’ll invite your boss as well.”

Sounds like Eric needs to read my recent post:

Consider forwarding him (he has a direct line he always calls from, right?) to the Jolly Roger Telephone Company. http://www.jollyrogertelco.com/

Assuming you can make rules/action sets in your phone system, you’ll never hear from him again.

Since I manage my own email filter I’d just bounce all their emails and since I use Google Voice to deal with sales people block their number which plays as number has been disconnected message for them.

But I’m with you, sometimes you have to shame folks on social media to get them to act right. Take to Twitter/Facebook as well I say.

Ha, I just got a call from AT&T, being all apologetic and wanting me back. I told him I’ve been trying to get away from AT&T since the last century (true - several times, I’ve temporarily succeeded, then they bought the company I replaced them with).

Oracle, well, the top dogs have based their compensation on cloudy returns, so they’ll be getting even more aggressive. Larry Ellison Reveals 'Self-Driving' Database As Oracle's Cloud Business Soars

The only one I enjoy is messing with the local cable company, they keep calling trying to get me to upgrade to fancy television packages, NESN , movie channel etc, I let them blab for a bit about all of it, then I inform them I don’t own a TV…

They have apparently given up trying to sell me a wired phone, probably got tired of trying to think up coherent answers to the question “Why the heck would I want a phone screwed to my wall?”

I feel your pain on the sales rep’s tho, they seem to have more time than prospects or something, calling the same folks over and over isn’t really increasing their chances when they have nothing you need. But as someone else noted, Oracle now has a whole bunch of nifty new things to sell, so the sales folks are probably in ecstasy…

That’s pure gold. I could listen to those recordings all day.

Clint Miller is listed as the director of Sales for Oracle/Dyn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/clintm/ - hit him up to get this bozo to stop and possibly terminate his employment.
