I work on the “weekends” (Saturday & Sunday) in a retail establishment. As such, I’m on Spiceworks (with lots of other SpiceHeads) on those days. So why don’t I get to do a daily challenge on those days?
I also rarely get on SW on my weekends, so I rarely get more than a 3-day streak, which does not meet my competitive drive. I know I’m whining here, and I have asked this question several times in threads and never gotten an answer.

Help me understand here. Your “competitive drive” isn’t enough for you to make the effort to get on SW during weekdays, but you want SW to make the effort to put up trivia questions on weekends?

Right. Thus the admission that I’m whining. Neither would be particularly hard, it seems to me.

Hey George!
Have you seen or heard about this new Spiceworks Academy training thing. It’s were you can do online training course within Spiceworks and earn new badges. Can remember the exact name for. Maybe have a look around for it for & have a try.
They can be found under the “Learn” link on top of your screen. I too do weekend nights but I don’t mind.

I just hit my 52 week streak yesterday. Even when I’m off work it takes 10 seconds to pop open the app and do the daily question.

Mmm maybe get more involved in the weekdays for the questions
I work from time to time over the weekends but having some rest from the questions is good. I have a 59 weeks streak so it is pretty cool, I know others have bigger streaks.
Admission: I don’t have a smartphone (well, I use an iPhone 3G as an iPod), so I have to get my laptop out and log into Chrome with my work credentials to get to SW on the weekend. I’m quite atypical that way.
I’m just saying it would be nice if the system were set up to allow users to decide when the weekend is: mine is Monday-Tuesday. Since the question system doesn’t show the same question to everyone every day, why couldn’t it let each of us decide when we want to see them?
Oh, and I like the new “Learn” option, but it’s not the same as the Daily Question Challenge.

You don’t work all day, so why not login after work and complete it.
I give up answering them a long time ago, it was fun at the start but I got bored quickly, and a lot of my time is taken up providing replies on the community, something which gives me more satisfaction than knowing my 1/4 answer could have been fluked.
If you really want to take part in the questions, make time, it’s less than 5 minutes from your day at a café or on your break/at home/outside of work.

I have enough trouble staying away without adding another reason to come here on the weekend, besides that would be likely to screw up my 48 week run I am currently on, Now if they had a quiz every day and you had to answer 5 of 7 every week that would be cool. That way if you missed a Wednesday you could make it up on Saturday.

I was so proud of my 6 week streak until I saw this. Clearly I’m not taking this daily challenge thing seriously enough! On the point of the post I hope they don’t introduce them on a weekend or my streak will be max 5 days forever.

If Spiceworks pander to that sort of nonsense, then they also have to pander to the “Please allow us to set dates where we don’t get a question because we’re on holiday and don’t want to break our streak” crowd, the “You asked a question when it was a National Holiday” crowd, the “You’re so America centric, why can’t you cater for UK/IE/FR/DE/etc holidays”, and the “I’m just looking for something to whine about because it doesn’t suit the fact that I’m special for some other reason” crowd.
And that way lies madness.

This^^^. It recognizes that IT is a 24x7x365 environment and that not all of us share a Monday-Friday work schedule.

This was my exact thought as well, questions provided 7 days a week, to keep your streak alive you have to answer 5 out of 7 a week.
Or after you have answered 5 in a row the system automatically gives you a “2 day” break, thus keeping everyone at the same # of potential questions answered each week. For the M-F people they get their questions M-F and streaks stay alive. For the Sat-Wed they get theirs etc. A system like that would be flexible for all IT people.

I only have a 1 day break this week. Next week I have 4 days…

Not everyone works a 5 day week. I used to work 3 days one week and 4 days the next. So I never had a 5 day work week on that schedule. Allowing people to set their work week themselves would be better imo. But that’s probably also a lot more work than useful.
