Hi everyone, how can I get free or cheaper access to Microsoft 365 business subscription I want to start learning Microsoft 365 but don’t really want to pay monthly fee. Microsoft has discontinued Microsoft DEV program. I need it just for learning purpose.

Thanks

What specifically are you wanting access to?

Office 365 is free, completely if you’re happy to use the web only.

CTRL+ALT+WINKEY+SHIFT will take you straight to it.

If you need to look at the business side, you can use an MSDN subscription, however this itself works out more than simply paying for a license, if you only want specific pieces.

You can set up a Tennant with a 1 month Free trial. It is a lot of work to get started if you are not going to eventually pay for it. But if you have the time, 1 month can get you pretty far.

I think the best option for you is to get the office 365 A1 plan for students and educators using only a valid educational email address - easy to get i think - you can read more about it here to see if it will be a good fit for you

you can get it here Office 365 Education

TIL this “mash all the buttons in the lower left” shortcut.

To learn Microsoft 365 without paying a monthly fee, you can start with the free trial offered by Microsoft, which provides full access for a limited time.

Additionally, Microsoft Learn offers free training resources. If you’re a student or educator, check for educational discounts. Nonprofits may also qualify for free or discounted subscriptions.

Finally, you can compare different Microsoft 365 Business plans and their features on Compare All Microsoft 365 Plans | Microsoft.

I recommend using Microsoft Learn to “learn” M365.

They have different modules & paths you can take, even things geared specifically toward AZ-XXX exams.

Am looking at business side. I only need it for learning Microsoft 365 admin. Thinking of studying for ms-101 and ms-102

Will try it. Thanks

Yeah I believe it will get me far. Thanks

Thanks

You are welcome. Any other help could be useful is my pleasure.

But what do you need to learn from MS365 ? MS Office Suite like Excel, Word & PowerPoint ?

If Office Suite is what you want to get familiar with, why not get a Gmail account and start with Google’s Sheets, Docs and Slides are almost 98% compatible with MS Office

Need to learn Exchange, Sharepoint, MS Teams and Entra as a cloud SysAdmin.

Learn how?

To support a user, to administer?

Exchange can be installed on prem, but it’s not the same as 365, SharePoint can also be installed on prem, but isn’t the same as SPO.

Perhaps start with the Learn guides and video tutorials.

Thanks

Then you need professional or formal courses…else get a job and do OJT

Will use MS learn then join Udemy. Thanks

But that will not help much…its like trying to learn how to swim by watching youtube and then join Olympics ?

After learning with MS Learn and Udemy, then I will get MS 365 free trial and practice. Thanks
