A client of mine received a file that is of a dash cam of a bus. The media file has an extension of “.Vision”. I tried VLC and NVIDIA media player to get it to work, but neither work at all. Any suggestions?

Have you tried running the file through a transcoder like Handbrake? I have to convert my CCTV files into MP4 inorder to view them in anysort of video playback software. (https://handbrake.fr/)

First off, shame on whoever sent the file in native format instead of converting to a universal format (i.e. MP4)

Second, it might just be a wrapper, try copying the file, then change the extension of the copy to MP4.

Third, more than likely it is an h264 compressed file, so you might need an h264 converter (try looking at [Swann’s site](http://First off, shame on whoever sent the file in native format instead of converting to a universal format (i.e. MP4) Second, it might just be a wrapper, try copying the file, then change the extension of the copy to MP4. I’m just spitballing here, but would one of these tools help?

I tried that, sadly it did not work

I tried that as well, however Handbrake says that it does not recognize the file.

Reddit thread with the same issue:

In case reddit is blocked, the important links someone found are:

http://www.safetyvision.com/pupil-transportation (company site)

This site USED to contain the player downloads, but it looks like the links are all broken now. It looks like the player was called “Foresight SD”.

This might be a stretch, but use a program like 7-zip to open the file. It may just be a container with multiple video streams in it.
