Hi have Hyper-V installed on my Windows Server 2016. I have added my self to the “Hyper-V Administrators” group. I have a VM I just migrated to it. On my Windows 10 machine I have started Hyper-V as administrator. I Right click on Hyper V and go to add the server. I can add the server name, IP address, or FQDN and when I hit connect it says I don’t have permission to complete this task.

I can ping the server. I am even remote desktop to the server. What permission am I missing?

Did you log off the Win 10 machine since you added yourself to the Group?

Domain Group membership is only enumerated at login to the machine you are logged on to.

Yes. Windows 10 machine and server have both been restarted.

domain or workgroup?

The error message usually states what needs to be done.

Domain.

Reinstalled HyperV and still no change.

Have you tried add yourself to the local Administrators group on your Windows 10 client PC?
You will require administrative privilege to perform such action.

Yes I am a local Administrator on all machines as I am the System Administrator.
