I seem to have an unusual issue in my case. I have server 2016 running Hyper-V for 2 win10 vm’s.
They are for 2 remote users connecting to the SQL server for Tracker Pro software.
Server has a Broadcom netextreme NIC.
2 years ago, I created PC1 and PC2 vm.
PC1. Works flawlessly.
PC2 started having issues about 3 weeks ago where after a single RDP session it would drop it’s IP and no longer connect to the network. Even connecting form the server through Hyper-V console results in a black screen. Only repair is to restart the VM.
I made PC3. Still have the same problem. PC1 still works.
I have latest firmware and drivers. I’ve removed the Hyper-V role and re-added after a reboot thinking something broke. Still having same problem. I’m at my wits end here with what could be wrong. Even viewer is no help. No devices are missing any drivers.

Have you disabled virtual machine queues in the Broadcom adapters?
That has been known to cause problems.
Create a new virtual switch and attach the problem PC to that. I haven’t had any issues with the scenario you are describing in 2016, but saw it regularly in 2012 R2.

Can you install another NIC? Preferably Intel and put your switch on it.
Server isn’t mine it’s a clients and they’re not local. Have to do this remotely sadly.

Do you have another method for connecting remotely besides RDP? Seems like RDP might be causing the problem. Have you run DISM/SFC on the affected VM?
Needs to be RDP.
PC1 doesn’t get affected by RDP. Just any other VM I make after it

Have you configured the Remote Desktop settings to “Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network level Authentication” or to “Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop”?
Tried both. Doesn’t make a difference. PC2 loses it’s IP after a single RDP session
Does VMs have the static IP-addresses?
Yes. Both VM’s have static IP’s for RDP access.
I tested using DHCP. After 1 RDP session the VM loses IP.

So after the VM drops the IP, is there an APIPA address assigned? DHCP address assigned?
In Hyper-V manager it has a blank space for IP under networking.
When I click connect through Hyper-V manager it loads a blank screen and never fully connects.

Of course that is what will be displayed if the IP has changed. You need to discover if another IP has been assigned.
