I have a .CSV file I’ve created from our old workstation inventory spreadsheet. In SW the network scan has inventoried our whole network nicely. I created custom fields for devices to match what I have in the .CSV file. example "user’, ‘Operating System’, ‘Phone Extension’.
I copied the bulk import tool into the bin folder and tried using this:
http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/203-import-devices-into-spiceworks-from-a-csv-file
Doesn’t seem to work, getting errors. Is there a way to use this tool to import the CSV info into the existing inventory?
1 Spice up
What errors are you getting?
And what version of Spiceworks are you using?

If you break your CSV up into blocks, do you get it with every block? That’ll let us know if it’s all data, or just one or two records.
only using one as a test. I’ve attached it here
vnc.csv (120 Bytes)
It won’t let me download that
If you enter your full profile that will boost your rating, allowing you to post links and then you can put it on Dropbox or something and link to that instead.
ok i guess my screenshot didnt come through
You probably need to ‘level up’ before posting screenshots.
The simplest way to do this is to fill out your full profile (including adding a profile picture)
