Any one have any experience with Iron Mountain? I thought they may make a good Spiceworks partner?

Appreciate your thoughts?

5 Spice ups

I love Iron Mountain.

We use Iron Mountain and we find them fantastic the reliability is good and the service they provide is top notch, would be an AWESOME spiceworks partner

They have a great reputation and I have yet to hear a bad word about them. They will make a great partner.

Sounds great! We use them for both physical and digital storage.

Use them here in the UK. Would make a good Spiceworks partner.

They’ll make a great partner. Good service and underlying technology. Their digital services are generally some of the most expensive in their markets.

Actually. Not as great as you might think. Just do a google search for “iron mountain loses tape”. That tape could be yours any day. We’re dumping them and going to offsite backup.

The problem with them is the human element. Between actual theft and human error there’s too much room for loss.

Worked with them for years, and we’ve always had a good relationship. They’ve bent over backwards for us more than once.

I’ve been there. Nice little town in Michigan. J/K. We don’t use them as a backup provider, but I’ve heard good things about them much like what has been said above.

We had some mixed results with Iron Mountain for a while, but service has now improved. I think it was a matter of too much change too rapidly - all at one time they were implementing container bar coding, consolidating vaults, and renovating a vault.

I do also have some problems with a recent rate increase that roughly doubled their rates, and they are not flexible about charging for all containers, whether they are at the vault or not. We have some pairs of containers that swap off every week, so it seems quite ignorant of Iron Mountain to charge storage space for all of these boxes rather than just half of them.

So if they doubled the cost and charge for twice the storage that you actually use, why keep them?

well i had a good conversation with Iron Mountain and we are discussing them becoming a partner. I will keep you posted.
