I’m trying to decide whether to use Spiceworks for my Help Desk. If Spiceworks is free, is it ad-supported? In other words, if I were to use Spiceworks for my Help Desk, would I see ads?

Even more important, if one of my customers were to open a trouble ticket, would my customer be forced to look at an ad, or later receive an unsolicited ad via email? Thanks for your reply!

Yes it is ad supported but in all the years I ran it they never got in the way, they were’t gaudy or obtrusive and they are exclusively IT related eith technology brands, or items. The end user portal and end users never see an ad and they never receive promotional emails. Your clients or end users will never once see an ad from spicewors or one of their advertisers, at least not via the spiceworks app or organization.

PS I would recommend the cloud helpdesk for now unless you need or want the on prem features, mainly because the on prem version is aged at the moment

The software is for free, and ofcourse it is ad supported. Are you looking for a free help desk?
If not there are couple of help desks in the market, which you can take a look at.
