I’m sure that in a previous release of spiceworks suggested knowledge base articles appeared when typing an error in the subject line on the user portal.

I’ve upgraded to the latest version and it doesn’t seem to be working.

Does anyone know if this is a fault with my installation, or whether I have just dreamed the whole thing?

Hey Gazatron85,

Good news is you’re not dreaming about KB articles at night! The not-so-good news is that this doesn’t seem to be working in my install either. I don’t believe that functionality was pulled out, so I’ll create a bug ticket on this!

Thanks Jon

Good to rule out one of the reasons I think I’m going crazy!

I’ve never had a bug ticket logged before, can you point me in the direction of where I would go to track it?

Thanks

The 7.4 update changed the way KB is stored, from the Community Servers to the Local server.

Did you try switching between the Local and Community view to see if the functionality returns?

The Lost & Found article shows you how to switch between them.

Hi V_S

The issue I am having isn’t with accessing the knowledge base articles from the knowledge base section unfortunately.

All the articles I have previously written are available through the spiceworks knowledge base interface, although as you say some I have to switch between community and local.

The problem occurs with the suggested articles that an end user would see with from the user portal.

Thanks for trying

I understand what you’re referring to now.

Spiceworks did say they were currently working on a way to copy/migrate the Community KB to the Local install, so we don’t have to re-create all of our KB. Hopefully, they can also get this search bug fixed before that (or at the same time)

Don’t forget to grab someone to see about getting @gsmith1985 a bug badge @jonm

No worries! I’ve just logged it for you. If you ever find another bug, just post here in the Spiceworks Support forum or shoot an email to support@spiceworks.com.
