Hi,

sorry as I might have asked this before, however I felt the urge to rephrase it again regard next stage of learning . I have been working on relatively small network mostly hyper-v vms with few physical servers , few Ubuntu Linux servers ( I don’t touch them) , SQL database servers ( I just setup connection from few PCs to them) , we have exchange online and Azure AD in the cloud . we have veeam for data backup and Starwind for HA of Hyper-v vms . Sonicwall is our firewall at the moment with little intervention from my end .

I managed to get my hands (though not thoroughly) on these things , however I always got the feeling of need to learn new things specially throughout Lockdown period where its a bit quite. Not sure if I got to focus on learning these things in my workplace or is there any advice on things to learn to progress as system/windows or 3 line support. I also went through learning pre-exist powershell scripts to automate things in work , but now feel my head just got numb of next step to go for . Just to mention I tried to look into couple of things like learn Azure, Linux ubuntu, or even find away to enter Devops field through Python or chef , but put myself off due to lack of need in my work environment

Any advice is much appreciated

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

I was in your situation 20 years ago and with having VMWare at my reach, I taught myself quiet the few OSes in that time and it was a game changer. Especially with Linux, because if I messed it up which I have, simple blow away and rebuild.

The majority of my knowledge comes from learning by doing with the available lab tools etc.

{"@type":"Person
vitob
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/vitob"}},{"@type":"Answer
