Going through the Jenkins Certified Engineer (2018) course on Linux Academy. Does anyone else think that one needs some programming/Java software development experience for this course? I’m coming at this as a vanilla Linux sysadmin and some concepts seem totally new to me and am lost and lacking in foundation. Thoughts on learning CI/CD without software engineering background? Thanks.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

Basics of linux scriptingBasics of Core java

It would be better if you know Python but any programming language such as Ruby, Javascript , C are also preferable to start with DevOps.

{"@type":"Person
peter-action1
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/peter-action1"}}]}}
