Hey all:
We are piloting an evaluation of using Intune for Samsung Tablet Management. Presently, we use Intune only for Apple iOS device management.
(Previously, we had Airwatch, but we are rolling OFF of it).
We’ve been able to configure Intune for some basic things like pushing Apps to our sample tablets we are using for testing. Somethings, like defining a security policy requiring password and complexity, are stumping us.
We’ve tried calling Microsoft support for help, but let’s just say we have hit a wall there.
SO I’m trying to help identify community groups, blogs, or other resources we can turn to and learn from others. We can’t be the only enterprise org who needs to use Intune for Android device Management. I would think there’d be a lot of expert resources out there, but TBH, I’m kind of stumped.
We’ve turned to Samsung support, but they told me that they do not officially support at all the use of their devices with Intune. Can I get a W, a T and an F?
Anyways, we’ve hit roadblocks on common standard configuraiton settings and MS isn’t any help, Samsung isn’t anyhelp, and my team and I are stuck.
Looking for any suggestions on community groups, blogs, websites, et al, that may be good resources to turn to for helping with using Intune to Manage Android devices in the enterprise.
Thanks in advance.

The device restriction policy for Android Enterprise corporate-owned devices has a section for device password. Have you tried that?

Thanks, Evan. We ended up figuring out this ONE setting just a bit ago.
My original post reqlly is more about finding resources we can turn to. DO you have any suggestions on sites that you turn to for ANDROID->INTUNE MDM info? I’d certainly appreciate any suggestions.

I think that Microsoft’s documentation for Intune is good in general. I also have followed Intune guides from a couple of other sites:

Thanks amigo!
Much appreciated! HOping to build out a network of resources we can turn to. I don’t want to start from scratch. I figured there has to be other’s who’ve already done what we are trying to do and just want to learn and expedite our implementation.
Much appreciated!

When we all went remote in 2020 management suddenly wanted to use all the cloud features of M365 we’d been ignoring, so we had to figure it out quickly. First lesson to pass on – Microsoft changes the way things work frequently. So once you have your policies in place, be sure to test them periodically so that they continue to work as you expect.
Next, you’ll need both a Configuration and a Compliance policy. And, if you end up allowing staff to enroll their own devices (BYOD) you’ll most certainly need Conditional Access policies. That was the hardest for us, since M365’s default seems to be allow everyone access to everyone, so locking it down takes a good bit of work.
Reach out if you’d like a sanitized copy of our policy set ups or even to get on a phone call. (Just don’t want to post them on the world wild web.)
Hey there,
It sounds like you’re having a challenging time with your Intune setup for Samsung tablets.
From what you’ve described, it’s clear you’re making progress by pushing apps, but getting into security policies like password complexity can be tricky, especially with Android. Community support can definitely make a difference when official channels don’t come through.
Here are a few places where you can find some solid advice and resources:
- Microsoft Tech Community (Intune-specific forums): Tons of active discussions where IT admins share their experiences.
- Reddit’s r/Intune: You’ll find a lot of crowd-sourced solutions here, and people tend to be pretty helpful with detailed walk-throughs.
- Scalefusion MDM: While you’re working with Intune right now, Scalefusion MDM has been known to handle Android device management seamlessly. It’s worth checking out, even as a backup or complementary solution if you find Intune too limiting or hard to navigate with Android. Plus, they offer great support for Samsung devices.
Lastly, if you’re looking for practical guides, YouTube channels like “AllThingsIT” or “Modern Workplace Tech” also dive deep into MDM with Intune for both iOS and Android.
Hang in there, and I hope one of these resources gets you and your team unstuck!

Can’t thank you enough, Alok!
yes, we are making progress, albeit too slow. We are trying to re-invent the wheel. Some of the Intune configuration policies are clearly common. But we are struggling with this. So just looking to expand our resources we can turn to.
ALso, we finally got a little help from MS support on one of the issues, but it took (five) days to get a call back from a tech who was able to help resolve. five days. At that pace, it’ll be 2026 before we make progress and my team’s got to be ready by end of September.

Also may be worth checking out Samsung Knox if you are thinking of keeping a Samsung fleet
