Is anyone using SpiceWorks to track hardware warranties and / or software maintenance agreements? If so, how are you doing it and how is it working for you? I’ve thought about putting them in IT Services, but there’s no real connection between the asset and the entry in IT Services. Let me know how you’re keeping track of them.

I couldn’t have asked the question any better myself. Any luck figuring out this mystery?

I could do with an answer to this too - it seems such a basic requirement but is sadly missing.

I’m glad someone ask this! I was just wondering that myself. also was wondering if it would be possible to deploy applications through SW to multiple workstations?

I’ve been replacing Hard drives and other components for servers that are not under warranty coverage. I’m looking for a way to track the serials for these assets and their associated warranty life. It would be great if there were an area to associate the component with a system too.

i.e. if I could add a hdd to my asset inventory, enter data on purchase date, price, and warranty life. Then associate that asset with the server it lives in. That way I can easily keep track of that drive and if that server might be killing disks, etc.

The same goes for power supplies and other hardware.

Thanks for asking!

I need to track software maintenance rnewals as well. How can this be done in Spiceworks?
