I have the mapped drives to my file server set up as a group policy so all users have the same mapped drives. I have one user who just switched computers, but her mapped drives won’t show up. I ran a gpresult /r and the result for the group policy said Filtering: Not Applied. Is there a way to force this group policy to that computer?

Is it a computer or user GPO? If it’s a computer GPO is this new computer in the same OU as her old computer?

Issue the gpudate /force command from a command window. NOTE: you’ll need admin privileges so either run the command windows as administrator or log on as a local admin.

It’s a user GPO, I don’t know how to add a Mapped Drive GPO under computer. And yes the computer is in the same OU.

Thanks I’ll give that a try.

If it’s a user GPO the computer shouldn’t matter much, unless there’s some odd GPO associated with it that’s blocking things.

Check the event logs on the new machine to see if there’s anything logged in there?

Does that map drive work for another user on that PC? If not, maybe disjoin and rejoin that workstation to the domain.

GPupdate is the way to go in this case i think. If not, have you setup your netlogon properly?
