You are correct. The GPO was applied to the OU group. I also created a security group (in AD) that would only allow specific users access to the shared drive mapping which is associated in security filtering in GPO mgmt.<\/p>","upvoteCount":0,"datePublished":"2021-07-14T17:21:50.000Z","url":"https://community.spiceworks.com/t/mapping-drive-issue-gpo/805530/4","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"juiceyfruit","url":"https://community.spiceworks.com/u/juiceyfruit"}},{"@type":"Answer","text":"
I wonder if this could be the issue, but I hope this isn’t the case because legacy policies created have not been effected.<\/p>","upvoteCount":0,"datePublished":"2021-07-14T17:23:41.000Z","url":"https://community.spiceworks.com/t/mapping-drive-issue-gpo/805530/5","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"juiceyfruit","url":"https://community.spiceworks.com/u/juiceyfruit"}},{"@type":"Answer","text":"\n\n

Did you add authenticated users with a read delegation on the advanced tab? Hello all,
I’m testing a policy to map a drive. I have completed this tasks repeatedly in prior IT positions, but I’ve seem to have hit a wall. The GPO Also shows in the gpresult as being applied to the security group. However the security group created doesn’t show in “applied group policy objects”. There are several other policies that maps shared drives within our company that have been setup the same way. Thank you in advance for the help.

Recent Windows 10 updates have broken connection to old SMB shared drives. I have had an issue where the mapping doesn’t work the next morning and other issues.
GPOs don’t apply to groups.
Is your test user in the OU where the policy is linked.

Yes, but I got the same results. I threw a hailmary and copied an existing policy and renamed it and the drive mapped. I’ve never done it before but it worked. Thsi is odd, but I hope its just a one time deal.
