Ads are supplied by multiple ad companies, it’s those that keep SW free - while others annoy me, i can visually block them out.

Speaking of bad fishy odors, someone incinerated a microwave-pasta-shrimp atrocity and chased us out of the kitchen for a couple hours today. Dunno what reminded me of it…

The ad is from Spiceworks

The ad comes from either doublclick or google - it might be about spiceworks and on spiceworks site, but they come from ad sites - hover over one.

So Spiceworks advertises itself on it’s own application and that makes it free? Smells like Jeff Jones’ breakroom to me but what do I know? I’m not in marketing.

Among other sites and companies - yes there are specific ads for their own challenges page, not so much for spiceworks app or the community.

Sorry Rod if I came off as snide. I really don’t know anything about advertising but I do know that it’s time for that ad to go away. And it is also probably time for the weekend or for me to find some anger management counselling… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Going to add my 2 cents in here.

Just ignore the ad or install an adblocker.

(Keeping in mind doing so undercuts Spiceworks efforts to generate funds through advertisements.)

I get the need for advertising, especially with Spiceworks. Just hoping they understand “ad fatigue” ← I learned a new term today!

I’ll forward your feedback to our ad team. I’m not sure how they cycle the ads, or pick the ads, or how long they last. Honestly, I dont know anything about the ads, other than they pay the bills around here. I’ll let them know that its causing some fatigue out there, but no promises that it will go away.

Sounds to me like we just need a new “face of Spiceworks”. I’ll make sure to volunteer for that as well.
