In UEB, under Retention Settings, is this warning:

“A maximum retention limit means that backups (and dependent backups) will be deleted once the Master/Full is older than this limit”

Does this mean that if I have a maximum of 30 days, after the master is 30 days old, it will be deleted and therefore a new master backup will occur, even if the backup is set to Incremental Forever?

{"@type":"Person
{"@type":"Answer

John - Great questions! If you’re using an Incremental Forever schedule, UEB will build a synthetic full on your appliance, so you do not have to worry about it purging the initial full backup. If you are going with a more traditional, weekly full, daily differential schedule, and want a full backup on your local appliance, you will need to schedule a full before the end of the 30 days. Does that answer your question?

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

One “set” will always be maintained, and an older synthesized master would be dropped, but you will always maintain one “set” capable getting you to today.

{"@type":"Person
jaguar
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/jaguar"}},{"@type":"Answer
