Hi All

I know this gets asked a lot and I’ve been reading lots of reviews, but just wanted to know the latest what some people are using or recommending.

We have just done a Trial with VM airwatch and we have looked at Soti, are there any others worth trying?

We would like emails and etc in their separate app and documents, we are currently using meraki but from what I’ve seen that doesn’t really do this?

Air watch seems good but I’ve read lots of people saying it isn’t such a great product on here!

We used to use Airwatch but we didn’t use all the feature you have to pay for and we found it very slow and clunky. We have since moved to the Manage Engine Desktop Central MDM as we were already using Service Desk Plus and Desktop Central. It is significantly cheaper and does everything we need it to and more. The support available has been fantastic in my experience and there is a wealth of info in their excellent knowledge base and they even host regular free training webinars.

In case you want to only manage mobile devices, you can try ManageEngine’s standalone MDM offering, Mobile Device Manager Plus (MDMP) - available both on Cloud as well as On-Premises. Also, it is free for up to 25 devices.

Microsoft Intune is worth a look, especially if you’re a Microsoft shop.

I’ve recently looked at MDM, specifically Meraki, Sophos and Manage Engine.

I went with Manage Engine. I had issues getting the Meraki trial getting started, and time is too precious to waste. Sophos worked, but not as well as Manage Engine, particularly with the way the enrollment is done which is much smoother with Manage Engine. I also liked it’s console more and it had a few additional features I liked such as the ability to send a loud alarm to a device to help locate it.

If Manage Engine could better deal with web filtering (allowing for categories) as well as anti virus - basically as Sophos does, it would be a winner. But I still went with Manage Engine because of the ease of device enrollment and deployment, much smoother and few steps.

For the first time ever I’ve chosen a low cost (at this point free due to numbers!) product over an expensive one. That says a lot!
