Anyone using or used Meraki MT sensor devices?

What model are you using ?

If so other then the obvious of pay for a license do you like them ?
Do they work well for monitoring temperature and humidity in server rooms or DC?

I have one monitoring the door open and door close of a remote IT room. And that works well.

Tried the one for temperature and humidity and I found it wasn’t very accurate. Albeit, I was using it in a wine room, so the accuracy was critical.

I am using the temp and humidity sensors in several Remote sites. They work well for me. Easy to setup and email and text alerts are great for after hours notification. I also have a door sensor at a remote site but I have turned off notifications on that since someone decided to leave the door cracked so evertime the wind blew it would trip the sensor. Drove me crazy!

Yes, I have one currently. Only one. I had a switch that was running hot, and since it was a utility closet with a furnace in it, I thought environment was the primary issue. (Ended up being a faulty fan controller, but that’s a story in another thread.)

It does a great job of monitoring temperature and humidity. It is battery operated. You can set alerts as well.

You may not need to buy a license, my dashboard came with some licenses for it. (I’m assuming part of the subscription package or with another device’s license not fully sure off hand.)

I have one in my off-site DR. It’s great, but requires Meraki other equipment to use as a gateway and to be online.

Yes have door and temp sensor pairs in three server rooms. I only saw one issue where remote site the ISP had monitor for temp they said it was over temp say like 90F. Meraki sensor never did anything. I pulled it up though and it did say basically what the ISP had reported, but alert never went out. I opened a TAC case and a lot of back and forth over a week or two and they said it was a bug in the system. Apparently when it sent it’s alert somewhere in the network it got dropped or lost connection and never triggered the alert. I was told they dig into and whatever the issue was was going to be resolved. I have not had this again but I have not had another trigger happen again either that I recall. All the stuff we did I am taking their word that they fixed the issue though.

What models are you all using ?

I have a MT10.

We have MT10, MT20, one MT12

MT10 in use

I have the button in my lobby, when pressed, we have it send MV Camera snapshot via email and text. We also have the temperature and water leak detection sensors in our server rooms. They’re all easy to manage and work great.
