We are using the Remote Agent to scan laptops. These devices are sometimes detected on the network of a Remote Collector and appear as unknowns. I have tried to resolve each unknown by identifying it with its Remote Agent counterpart (“this is a device I’ve already scanned in”) but it never works (Something went wrong, please try again").

When I try to merge devices like this on our central server, I have success. But I cannot merge them with devices discovered on our remote collector. Is there anything I can do to solve this? Or should I just choose “manage this device myself” and delete them each permanently?

Sorry for the hassle there… you’re right, though. If the remote collector sees the device and tries to scan it but can’t, your best bet is to just delete the unknown device from Inventory.
