@markpayton oh I don’t work in a school. We get that because we are a global company and our counterparts get a LOT more holidays than we do over here in the US (Southeast Asia so they have a lot), so they try to make it up to us by giving us a week off at Christmas (even though I still don’t think our days off are equal). Some years, it falls differently, but this year, thankfully, it is between Christmas and New Year. YAY!!

Plus I got a raise (very important and didn’t think it was going to happen-haven’t had but 1 increase since I started 3 years ago) and a title change(not that important to me) as of 1/3 WOO HOO!!

Yes, international companies have those issues. I worked at one where we had an office in Austria as well as the US and we had to juggle projects often because of the vacation/days off discrepancies. That and the company policy that 18" or 1/2 meter of snow in the mountains was cause for shutting down the company for a day of snowboarding. As far as I recall it only happened a couple of times over six years here in the US, but in the Alps? Way more often!
