I’m currently working at support-desk as an intern in an IT department with 180 users domain on a MS server 2008 R2 . I recently completed my A+ N+ certification and looking to get more certifications in order to add more value to my department and possible in the future become an administrator. Which certifications should i attempt?

~In regards to adding value to your department, you really ought to discuss that with your line manager, However an MCSA for either server or Desktop does seem like a logical next step

Thanks, will look it to it.
Agree with the above, talk to your manager about what they care about. Also look at what career options interest you.
The Microsoft cert path, the MCSA, will certainly be a good starting point. Give you good direction, deeper understanding, make you more valuable to the general marketplace (in case you need to find another job), etc. Very flexible.
Also consider the Server+ and Security+. Neither is all that hard but they help you to “round out” your knowledge and certs. One shows an A+ like knowledge of Server hardware and concerns. The other shows a basic understanding of industry security needs which isn’t remotely going to get you a security job but is a really nice bit of “icing” on an otherwise administration or support focused certification portfolio. It helps to demonstrate that you are “security minded” and potentially a little more qualified than your peers.

Since you have N+ already, I’d spend a week or two studying for the CCENT. After you pass that you can decide if you want to go the full CCNA route. Even if you’re not using Cisco, the CCENT/CCNA is great to have in your list of accomplishments.
